With the festive season in full swing, I, like most people, am really excited about the joys of the next few weeks. The tree, the lights, the tinsel, the presents, the food and, last but not least, the office Christmas party – ours took place last night and it was a corker!
As we settle down to enjoy our mulled wine and mince pies, let’s take a look at some of this year’s seasonal #PR campaigns. We’ve put our heads together in the office today and come up with our favourites. Here are our top three:
3) Lego’s toy PR stunt.
Lego has launched the world’s largest snow globe which is currently on display at London Covent Garden.
Inside the globe they have placed 14 Lego structures of famous London landmarks such as the London Eye, The Shard and Big Ben all encased in a dome and surrounded by fake snow.
2) Christmas Jumper Day
On Friday 13th December most of the UK took part in Christmas Jumper Day, raising funds for Save The Children. We here at Clareville also celebrated this wonderful charity by donning our best festive jumpers and donating a pound towards this amazing cause.
What surprised me is the sheer number of organisations participating in Christmas Jumper Day each year, and just how effective this campaign is for Save The Children. I saw many a festive jumper on my way to work this morning – I bet you did too!
1) Sainsbury’s “Christmas in a day”
Sainsbury’s new ad campaign “Christmas in a day” has captured the nation’s heart and includes a 50 minute online ‘documentary’ on what Christmas is like for people across the UK.
Sainsbury’s brought on Oscar-winning director Kevin MacDonald to take on the role of director. All together this is an excellent, heart warming and memorable Christmas campaign.
