Look out for Giftcard & Voucher Week – starting on Saturday
Christmas shopping makes the last few weeks of each calendar year the most important period for many gift products.
As many consumers start to think about Christmas shopping lists and Gift Guides start to appear in the media, now is the most important and ideal time to increase awareness of potential gift ideas.
So starting this Saturday 10 November and running until Saturday17 November is Giftcard & Voucher Week 2012 – http://www.giftcardvoucherweek.com/ orhttp://clareville.co.uk/cms/news-stories/gift-card-and-voucher-week-2012?web-page-id=9
It has the backing of the industry and its participants and supporters this year include major companies and organisations such as Debenhams, Halfords, H Samuel, National Garden Gift Vouchers, Theatre Tokens and Wickes.
It is a Clareville idea and we created it as a consumer #pr technique to help the industry to celebrate the positive appeal of #giftcards and #vouchers as the perfect Christmas gift for friends and family.
The value of this approach to #publicrelations is that, by concentrating media coverage for a campaign into a tighter time period, the activities together make greater impact and achieve more.
Though we say it ourselves, there is plenty of editorial coming up next week to get the message across to millions of potential customers nationwide. Radio interviews, news editorial from an exclusive poll, daily competitions in the Daily Mirror and Daily Record for 6 days from Monday 12th, competitions on Channel 5, in women’s magazines and in 50 regional newspapers are just some of the many ways that shoppers will hear about giftcards and vouchers soon.
It is easy to waste money on gifts that don’t suit the recipients. This campaign will remind present buyers that a gift card or voucher is a great way to give family and friends the chance to choose exactly what they want.
We’re confident that this year’s campaign will deliver what is expected – and that several more major brands who are already showing keen interest will be joining us as supporters in 2013.
