Whether you love it or loathe it, everyone will know exactly what event is on 14th February.
And who do you think gets more excited about Saint Valentine? No, not couples. PRs that’s who.
The days leading up to Thursday and the holy day itself saw hundreds of themed stories to make your heart go gooey.
Even The Guardian got in on the act on its front page with an apt poem.
The Independent decided to go for a quirky, if slightly morbid angle on Valentine’s Day with a look at the tragic love stories of the past (ind.pn/Yum1D6).
And good old Google celebrated the birthday of George Ferris instead, incorporated with various love themed cartoons obviously.
I could make a long list of many clever, subtle, funny, cute, sickly, disastrous (delete as appropriate) love-related stories and PR stunts that have appeared in the past week, but the real winner here is not the PR team, or even the products, it’s Saint Valentine of Rome. I bet he didn’t have a PR team and his legacy is still going strong, although he was sent to prison and then executed…just for falling in love. http://www.history.com/topics/valentines-day
