Quite a lot when it comes to naming your baby (and our Baby PR team!).
The Office of National Statistics has just released the top names for boys and girls in 2019 and Olivia and Oliver continued their reign as the top choice in England and Wales.
The trend has also continued with the choice of name differing between older and younger mothers. Mothers aged 35 years and over tend to choose more traditional names like Emily or Edward, while younger mothers opt for more modern names or shorten versions of traditional names like changing Frederick to Freddie
Although top spots are unlikely to change drastically for a few years, with parents opting for the steadiness of the top 10 during difficult times, middles names may differ. Parents are forecast to be more adventurous with middles names and a list of those would look very different to the most popular first names.
